WHAT TO SEE
The walk in Cannobio begins on the lakefront, which is about 3 km long and is one of the most beautiful walks on Lake Maggiore. The lakeside promenade is accessible, with no particular gradients and plenty of benches along the way. The cobblestones do not present any particular obstacles, apart from a few short sections. Starting from Lido, the itinerary takes you along a route, lasting about an hour, which allows you to admire the most characteristic places in Cannobio such as the lakeside, the Sanctuary of SS. Pietà, the pretty shops, the Hotel Pironi in Via Umberto I, with its unusual profile resembling the prow of a ship, the Borgo Antico up to the Ponte Ballerino. Most shops have at least one step at the entrance. On the main street is the Collegiate Church of San Vittore: it can be accessed from the side by climbing a small step of about 7 cm. A few metres away, in Via Giovanola, is Palazzo Parasi or Palazzo della Ragione: the quintessence of medieval architecture, it was built in 1291 and stands next to the Bell Tower. The Palazzo Parasi is home to Cannobio's tourist office. The lower floor can be accessed via a ramp, while the upper floors, where art exhibitions are held, are accessible by lift. The whole of the old town is cobbled and therefore quite difficult to navigate with a manual wheelchair: it is possible to move around on the pavements or on the stone slab walkways that are not always straight. After a tour of the old town centre, you can enjoy a few hours of rest and sunshine at the Lido, one of the largest beaches on Lake Maggiore. The lido is a large, well-equipped beach, visited by many swimmers who wish not only to enjoy a sunny and relaxing holiday, but also to engage in sporting activities. It is accessible via a ramp in the sandy part, while the grassy part is easily accessible.
It is also possible to take boat trips through the Taxi Boat service - Marco Ferro - Tel +39 339 8318827. The motor boat can carry up to a maximum of 3 passengers with wheelchairs.
There is an app useful for information on the accessibility of the Lake Maggiore jetties: DIVERSAMENTE LAGO, which can be downloaded from both IOS and Android stores.

In Cannero Riviera, eight kilometres from Cannobio towards Verbania, there is another accessible Lido. You can park (there are places reserved for the disabled) just below the Cannero cemetery (Via al Cimitero) and from there take the lift to the Lido area, where there are also accessible toilets. For information contact the Tourist Information Office in Via Orsi 1 - Tel. +39 0323 788943 - email cannero@distrettolaghi.it or the Municipal Police - Via Municipio - Tel. +39 0323788091 - mail polizialocale@comune.canneroriviera.vb.it
Cannero Riviera, a one-of-a-kind vacation resort nested on a small sunny promontory, it has become famous for its mild climate both in summer and winter. The village, lying on the delta of the Cannero torrent, juts out in the widest mirror of the lake, offering a panorama of great breath enlivened by the picturesque castles that rise fabulously from the waters.

OVERALL ACCESSIBILITY DESCRIPTION:
The route is accessible for people with reduced mobility. For people using a manual wheelchair, the presence of an accompanying person is recommended, particularly in the old town, as the route is cobbled and slabs are not linear.
