From October 17 to 19, the Lake District was on tour among Lake Orta, Lake Maggiore, Lake Mergozzo and the Ossola Valleys to accompany five national Destination Wedding Planners to discover the wonders of the area that lend themselves well to the "Big Day" of Italian and foreign couples.
The program was packed with Site Inspections at facilities with wedding offerings including luxury hotellerie locations including boutique hotels, resorts as well as historic mansions and castles.
The program also gave them the opportunity to discover the area by visiting evocative and emblematic places such as a visit to the splendid Baroque palace on Isola Bella, to the English garden with rare plants and exotic flowers located on Isola Madre and a short cruise on Lake Orta, around its pearl of San Giulio Island.
Not only sightseeing, the Lakes Tourist District tried to make them enjoy a Wedding experience with Outdoor & Fun, Food & Wine and Vineyard Experience tours.
On Lake Orta, the Wedding Planners enjoyed a fun time at the Pigne Adventure Park, launching themselves from suspended ropes and experiencing adrenaline-pumping outdoor trails. Next in the hills of Lake Maggiore, they enjoyed some good home-made pasta cooked with their own hands during the Cooking Class and finally, in the Ossola Valleys at the Patrone Winery they were able to taste local wines such as Prunet, accompanied by a short tour of the winery and vineyards located on the heights of Domodossola.
The various activities included a short walk to the Sacro Monte of Orta, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to let them experience a magical moment characterized by a marvelous view of the lake, unspoiled nature and a spiritual atmosphere represented by the twenty chapels that illustrate with sculptures and paintings the episodes in the life of St. Francis. Finally, the tour also touched on Lake Mergozzo, a place of quiet and serenity, for a dinner of lake fish seated beside the panoramic terrace of La Quartina Restaurant.
The Fam Trip was much more than a territory enhancement and promotion initiative; rather, it was an opportunity for participants to network by discussing future challenges and opportunities that the wedding industry presents.
The program was successful both for the wide and diverse offerings proposed and for the beauty of the territories visited.
