OLD AND NEW CONFIRMATIONS OF BLUE, ORANGE, AND LAVENDER FLAGS FOR THE MOST BEAUTIFUL VILLAGES IN ITALY!
As of right now, 3 “Bandiere Blu” (Blue Flags) have been assigned this year: the new entry Arona (NO) with its beach at Rocchette/Lido Nautica, Cannero (VB) and Cannobio (VB) have all received recognition as tourist swimming sites that comply with the territory’s sustainable management criteria.
However, there are 9 “Bandiere Arancioni” (Orange Flags) assigned by the Touring Club Italiano, which certifies excellent small villages near the beaches: acknowledgements went to Arona ( the new entry), Cannero, Cannobio, Macugnaga, Malesco, Mergozzo, Santa Maria Maggiore, Orta San Giulio and Vogogna, with the last two also being added to the list of the “Borghi più belli d’Italia”.
Lastly, the “Bandiere Lilla” (Lavender Flags) of accessible municipalities were assigned – in our territory – to Baveno and Verbania!
