Museo d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea "Fanny Usellini" - Polo di inclusione sociale

Lago Maggiore

“Fanny Usellini” Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art – Centre for Social Inclusion

The museum is a new cultural space established with the aim of combining the promotion of artistic heritage with a strong social mission. More than a place dedicated to the preservation and appreciation of art, it is a space open to the community, where culture becomes a means of fostering relationships, participation and inclusion. Its distinctive feature lies in the dialogue it creates between art and society, offering tangible opportunities for people with disabilities and those in vulnerable circumstances to engage with culture. Here, inclusion is not an afterthought, but a fundamental part of the museum’s identity.

The Fanny Usellini Museum thus aspires to be a place where the beauty of art can also foster opportunities for connection, independence and participation, moving beyond the traditional notion of the museum as merely an exhibition space.

At the heart of the museum lies, of course, art: its collection comprises 556 works, including paintings and sculptures, donated to the City of Arona by the Sansone-Usellini family. This artistic heritage is now shared with the wider community and made accessible to residents, schools, families and visitors alike.

Accessibility: YES; the upper floors are accessible via a ramp. Tactile paving and Braille panels are also provided.

School groups welcome.
