Villa Motta is on the waterfront of the lake. The park, laid down in 1880, goes around the slopes that flank the lake. Here is the kingdom of bushes, that make up almost a forest of rhododendrons, camellias, azaleas, while conifers embrace the park as a hedge.
The garden is bright and full of light, with wonderful perspectives of the small island of San Giulio and of the lake. Flowering is throughout all the year. Fall flowering includes Sasanquas and the fragrant Osmanthus; Sasanquas continue during winter together with the the fragrant Chimomanthus and Hamamelis. Spring is of course a festival of Camellias, Rhododendrons, Azaleas. Roses and a large collection of Hydrangias cover Summer. You find there a giant hybrid Rhododendron arboreum some 15 metres tall and azaleas that make an eapsliaer and flower every year in May.
