The bishops building

The XIII century Bishop’s Palace, summer residence of the Bishops-Counts, constructed by Bishop Peter IV over the ruins of an ancient castle and enlarged, restored and embellished by the later bishops, is located in the old part of the town, near the Basilica of Saint Julian. The simple but refined building presents a square base and an elegant loggia-balcony on the façade. The building is surrounded by a large garden with several age-old trees. At the entrance there is an elegant wrought-iron gate standing between two pillars surmounted by stone vases.
