The botanical gardens at Giardini Botanici di Villa Taranto will be open every day, including holidays, from Saturday 4th April - Sunday 1st November.
The first spring flowers will bloom in April: edgeworthias, prunus, magnolias, forsythias, daffodils and tulips. Throughout the season you can admire large patches of hundreds of rhododendrons and azaleas, while in the summer months the queen of aquatic plants, the tropical water lily Victoria cruziana, never fails to fascinate tourists. Not to mention the dahlias and green mazes to be discovered!
Also, this year you can buy a ticket so you can visit the Gardens for the entire season, or for the summer season.
The calendar of events that will alternate during the opening period, weather conditions permitting, is as follows: the "Festa del Tulipano" (12-26 April), "Colori senza Confini" (from mid-April to mid-May), "Fiori d’Acqua" (June, July and August), "Victoria cruziana in Flower" (from June 20 - end of October), "Mostra delle Dahlie" (from the last ten days of July - end of October) and the magnificent "Fall Foliage" (from October 1 - November 3)
Last but not least, there will be reduced entrance fees for members during the "Settimane del Fai" (14-21 April, 12-19 July and 13-20 September) and free entry for residents to the "Turista nella tua città" event.
Finally, from April 1 - May 3, the "Contest Fotografico di primavera” will take place, an interesting initiative inspired by nature’s awakening. In celebration of the first warm rays of sunshine, the Giardini Botanici di Villa Taranto is giving you the opportunity to channel your inner "photographers” with one snapshot that encapsulates springtime at the Villa Taranto Botanical Garden. Among the participants, the 3 best photos will be awarded a quarterly subscription to the park.
