March 23 and 24: on Lake Maggiore the unmissable camellia exhibition

Camellia is Lake Maggiore official flower. In spring the Camellia National Exhibition in Verbania and in Cannero Riviera, almost unique in Italy, is dedicated to the also called “perfect flower”. Its 47th edition will occur on March 23-24, 2013.

In the wonderful location of Villa Giulia in Verbania Pallanza experts, lovers and visitors will be able to admire three hundred camellia varieties cultivated by 200 flower growers belonging to the association “Consorzio Fiori Tipici del Lago Maggiore”.
Many other events are in program during the two days: a camellia market, meetings, cultivation lessons (on reservation), gardening laboratories for children, book stands and tastings of camellia sinensis tea.
In the Villa Giulia Restaurant gastronomic specialities based on the culinary use of the camellia, that was the official flower also during the World Cross-Country Skiing Championship “Fiemme 2013” and the “Marcialonga” Race in Trentino Alto Adige.
Not only: guided tours to camellia collections in local botanical gardens and villas (i.e. Villa Taranto, Villa Rusconi-Clerici, Villa Anelli and Isola Madre) on reservation (Tel. +39 0323 503249).

In the Villa La Sabbioncella in Cannero Riviera (about 15 km far from Verbania) there will be the other Camellia Exhibit, completed by music entertainment and food&drink stands.
In this nice town shopping stands, books on the topic, camellia perfumes and cosmetics, walks as well as cruises to the Cannero Castles are foreseen too.

A real occasion to spend your weekend on the lake, visit some tourist attractions in Verbania and Cannero, relax on the roads along the lake or have shopping in their historical centres. Profit it!
