The “Mottarone Ski Train”

On Mount Mottarone, above Lake Maggiore and Lake Orta, a very new “Ski Train” is ready for thousands of skiers functioning everyday from December 26th to January 9th and after on weekends and feast days.

The “Mottarone Ski Train” is a useful mean of transport to reach the mount top, the ski runs and “Alpyland” speed slideway from parkings in “Monumento” area and “Borromeo Road”.
This way people will not have to walk long with ski equipment after having parked their car and any parking poblem will be avoided.

The service is organised and managed by Distretto Turistico dei Laghi Monti e Valli, which has satisfied the needs and desire of tourist operators, restaurants and shops of Mottarone as well as sportsmen from any provenance.
The aim consists in developping winter mountain valorization in a region which is perfectly between Provinces of Novara and VCO… Waiting for summer with many other news regarding logistic and facilities in favour of tourists moving around on our lakes and mountains!

The train with 20 seats and a skis van is available from 9 to 16.50.

The itinerary is characterised by 5 stops: Vetta, Borromeo, Funivia/Alpyland, Casa della Neve and Bivio Monumento.
Among them Funivia/Alpyland and Casa della Neve are optional stops effectuated only during the central part of the day or on request to reach ski systems from the Cable Way Stresa-Mottarone station or Alpyland from the top.

Ski train ticket: 2 €uro round trip; free for adults owning the “Laghi & Valli Neve & Benessere Card” or children till 12 years old together with them.
Ticket or card available directly on board, by Mottarone Ski ticket office, Stella Alpina Ski School and Bar Alp.
