VAL GRANDE NATIONAL PARK
The largest Wilderness Area of the Alps (about 15.000 hectares). In Val Grande let’s find high mountains, alpine lakes and wild valleys but also paths and nice shelters used for housing, for stabling or offering accomodation to hikers. The European Wilderness Association declared the Val Grande National Park as the only one area in Europe that completely maintains its original environmental properties.
BOSCO TENSO WWF OASIS (Premosello Chiovenda)
WWF protects this green and fertile area which lies on the Toce River’s bed, where several types of birds normally nest.
PIAN DEI SALI WWF OASIS (Malesco)
A wonderful area in Vigezzo Valley, surrounded by a natural scenery of coniferous forests, nice mountain villages and snowy peaks, very next to the border with Switzerland.
ANTRONA VALLEY NATURE PARK
In Antrona Valley near the town of Villadossola, a peaceful park surrounded by lots of alpine lakes where pure air is mixed with the joyful sounds of mountain feasts and the sweet smells of typical cooking.
VEGLIA-DEVERO NATURE PARK
Sweet and hard at the same time seems living here between Divedro and Antigorio Valleys, green plains and grey mountain tops, strong wind and quiet lake water.

LAGONI NATURE PARK IN MERCURAGO (Mercurago-Arona, Dormelletto, Oleggio Castello, Comignago)
A natural park with three big lakes (“lagoni”) of glacial origin and various wood types where you can walk, run and ride horse or bike. It is an important archaeological area too, with prehistoric and roman findings now preciously kept in Arona and Novara museums.
