Pian dei Sali Oasis, Vigezzo Valley

Pian dei Sali and Bosco Tenso Oasis: two green areas characterised by an untouched natural heritage which is strongly correlated to the territory.

PIAN DEI SALI
A 1,5 hectare large and humid land in Finero (Vb), Vigezzo Valley born in 1999 as WWF protected area.
It is characterised by the presence of water due to a special ground impermeability that creates small ponds during spring and fall seasons.
It is surrounded by gentle slopes covered by coniferous forests and high mounts next to the Swiss border.
There is a nature path, a high and a low pond area, a picnic area, a sports ground and a curious sundial by which one is able to know what the time is simply by using his/her shadow while the sun shining...
Animals such as roes, deers and chamois normally choose Pian dei Sali as their living habitat.
Open from spring to autumn.

BOSCO TENSO
The 23 hectare wide reserve lies on the Toce River plain in Premosello Chiovenda (Vb), low Ossola Valley.
Its main feature is a high ground fertility due to frequent past flooding of the river.
It is surrounded by the angular tops of Val Grande mountains.
Several equipped areas where to relax after a walking along the numerous park paths - which are well indicated by maps and signs all around - together with a nationally recognised horse centre describe the offer of this WWF oasis.
Its rich flora consists in oaks, ashes, thorns and elders, while the local fauna is dominated by herons, blackbirds and woodpeckers. Among the others not to miss are also foxes, hares, fallow deers and squirrels.
