Special Natural Reserve of Dormelletto

The reserve extends over an area of about 157 hectares along the shore of Lake Maggiore, on the territory of Dormelletto between Arona and Castelletto Ticino.
This area is one of the last examples of the original lacustrine vegetation, now a refuge for many aquatic bird species, among which loons, swans and bald-coots as well as a resting stop for many migrating species, such as the swallows.
The reserve offers also some pleasant beaches, ideal for some relaxation and to enjoy to the best the surrounding nature environment.
