Isorno Valley

The Isorno Valley, one of the minor valleys of the Ossola region (VCO), is crossed by the homonimous river and branches out at Montecrestese, geographically inserting itself between Val Formazza and Val Vigezzo.
It is very narrow and human settlements are therefore very few and far between.. After the pasture of Agarina, the valley branches out into two vales: on the right Val Agrasino, on the left the Valley of Rio Nocca. On the upper part of the latter are the wide pastures of Alpe Matogno and Val Cravariola, in the past object of bloody battles fought to gain possession thereof. The Isorno valley is perfect for alpine skiing and trekking.
