On 20th March gardens and mansions of the noble Borromeo Family on Lake Maggiore are going to re-open to the public. After a long wintertime tourists will be able to appreciate again the shining and blooming spring nature and to follow its extraordinary growth, season after season till the arrival of autumn: an ever new spectacle thanks to countless botanical species which enhance Isola Bella and Isola Madre breathtaking gardens.

Four treasures as four destinations usually not open to the public that on March 27 and 28 will be visitable with the help of special tourist guides. It will really be a rare occasion for discovering local landscapes and works of art very far away from daily city chaos!

Since Sunday, March 14 the public boats of the Navigazione Lago d'Orta have been operative, reaching the Island of San Giulio as well as all destinations round the lake. At the website www.navigazionelagodorta.it a new rich program has been published with several journeys, a timetable and the prices of season 2010. The Cusio ferry company also includes special cruises on the lake in occasion of main local events.

Bike riding in Fondotoce Wildlife Reserve is probably the best sport to find out some beautiful panoramic views in a place of absolute natural beauty. The suggested route allows to ideally embrace Lake Maggiore, Lake Mergozzo and Toce River. It's suitable for everyone and practicable in every moment of the year. From the town centre of Fondotoce the most convenient entrance to the cycle line is near the roundabout of the main road in direction to Feriolo. Through a canal which connects the two lakes, riders can reach the marvellous bed of reeds of Fondotoce.

The final competion of the first Italian Extreme Freeride Circuit, starting from March 23 in Northern Italy, is programmed in Macugnaga along the Canalone Marinelli, the first European face in terms of difference in height and the highest in the Alpine Chain.

In the Ossola Valleys Easter still means winter sports: at the moment the majority of the ski stations of Neveazzurra is open and we’re sure you’ll have fun skiing on them!

Theatre and art: pure culture to live your Easter on Lake Orta.
On April, 4 in Orta will be inaugurated the exhibition: “The Lake. Paintings of the eighteenth century between Piedmont and Lumbardy”, an interesting show, held in the historical halls of Palazzo Penotti Ubertini, which propose some of the most famous masterpieces of Piedmontese and Lombard artists of the eighteenth century.
The exposition, one of the events organised by “Ortissima”, will remain open till October, 3.

Easter is a holy day rich of symbols which refers to the mistery of Resurrection: important moment of the Christian life coincides with the “nature resurrection”, after the long winter.
