Verbania Pallanza guests on October, 2 in the Church of San Leonardo at 3 p.m. 15, the fourth edition of the choir festival "In...canto d'ottobre sul lago" (free entrance, www.associazionecoripiemontesi.com).
And before winter, take the chance to visit the woods around the lakes maybe searching chestnuts or getting on the top of Mottarone mountain (easyly reachable with the cable car Stresa-Alpino-Mottarone).
Make a funny walk also in the cities of the lake: maybe visiting the "market stalls" dedicated to the local handcraft and to the food and wine excellences.
Are you a bit lazy?! Take note, and enjoy the literature awards, scheduled in autumn: for ex. the "Stresa Literature Award", whose award ceremony is scheduled on October, 30 in the Regina Palace Hotel.

The Worldwide Fireworks Championship will end on August 29th with the last appointment: you can not miss the great pyro-musical ending show by the Italian Parente Company.

Quiet and pleasant, Omegna lies in the northern end of Lake Orta, the intimate and romantic lake of Cusio region. This multifaceted town is not only the capital of the so called “House Ware District” but a destination rich in events too, such as the well-known San Vito Feast, which in 2010 is going to reach its 107th edition. Locked among lake and mountains, Omegna is being the precious and ideal location of the two last dates in program for “Fiori di Fuoco” 2010, on August 22nd the performance of Costa Rica.

Arona and Angera are two enchanting towns next to each other but separated by the short southern part of Lake Maggiore. Their Borromeo fortresses are opposing and both able to give fascinating views as a present for tourists and visitors coming there. Attractions of Arona are the popular road around the lake and the holy mountain that jealously keeps the second highest statue in the world, the Colossus of S. Carlo. Angera is instead characterised by a rare example of perfectly maintained medieval castle. Between the two, fireworks “made in Hungary” are being launched from floating platforms located just in the centre of the lake.
