Ski resorts in the Circuit of Neveazzurra are going to take a short holiday-break after last long winter season and most ski lifts are going to close waiting for next year. But, strange to say, snow continues to be abundant in our mountains: thanks to recent snowfalls and low temperatures at night it can reach 2 meters height high-flying. This means that those who love skiing also during sunny weekends in spring will find runs characterised by excellent snow quality, so... they can simply do it!
In spite of the official ending of Season 2009-2010, some winter activities in the Ossola Valleys are in fact still going on. In Macugnaga, for example, skiing will be possible till Mai 2 (Mount Moro) because snow is from 50 (Mount Belvedere) to 180 cm (Mount Moro) high. The Piana of Vigezzo will remain operating till April 11th. A record is registered in San Domenico, where snow height measures 2 meters: there, ski lifts will work till April 25th. In Formazza Valley the two runs for cross-country skiing, San Michele and Riale, are still open being snow 1,5 meters high.
