Isola Madre - Lake Maggiore

During the week from June 19 to 26 the Isola Madre, one of islands of Borromeo Gulf on Lake Maggiore, suggests an elegant break in the new romantic Cafeteria, located in a ancient greenhouse of the 20th century. There visitors will be served with precious melanges of tea in order to restore themselves during hot summer weeks. Tea, in fact, has represented a "long life" drink able to cure every disturbs since the Emperors' China ancient époque.

Thanks to the consulting of the famous tea leaving artist Francesca Natali, three special types of tea will be proposed during the event: Source Vital, a powerful mix of green tea and ginger; Jardin de Mogador, a refreshing mix of green tea with mint and rose; Tie Quan yin, a perfumed and sensual oolong.
A cup of tea will be offered free to all the visitors of the Cafeteria from June 19 to 27.
Tea will be prepared for infusion in cold water, but you can ask also for a hot preparation.
In the bookshop packages of tea as well as several nice souvenirs from China, India and Japan will be sold. For sell will be the so called French "macarons", a small cake to be eaten by drinking tea, and little sticks made by white and dark sugar, too.
Not to miss are also some appointments in the beautiful scenery of the Isola Madre to live exciting experiences...
On Saturday, June 19 at 11,30 and 15,00 in the octagonal hall of the Borromeo Palace Francesca Natali will show the Chinese tea ceremony. Chinese people have a long time experience and as tea drinkers having wide tea fields as well as spread cultivations of Camellia Sinensis, which is possible to drink. Their tea culture has then developed into a highly codified tea ceremony, called "gong fu cha".
On Saturday, June 26 the Borromeo Palace will instead host the recreation of the Moroccan tea ceremony: new gestures and custom for a completely different culture.
Come then to the Isola Madre and discover unknown methods of tasting such a common drink, able to reserve hidden surprises among far away perfumes and fascinating atmospheres.
